I have been represented by two separate talent agencies in the Atlanta, metro area since 2007. I have represented advertisements for various restaurants and banks as well as industrial video presentations for use on the radio as well as over the internet. Prior to working with talents agencies I offered my voice to television commercials for use by non-profit arts organizations.
I completed a degree in theatre and performance from the Department of Theatre and Dance from Western Kentucky University in the fall of 2003. There I performed in various musical theatre productions and took a class on Acting for The Camera where I had the opportunity to record and produce my own VoiceOver demo for a class project. This assignment alongside a semester as a late night DJ for the college radio station lead to my decision to move to LA, less than a year later where I was guided to enroll in a class from The VoiceCaster in Burbank, CA. Upon completion of this course I was referred to a studio producer who picked copy, recorded and coached me while producing my current commercial demo which I still use.
I currently record my voice tracks on a high quality condensor microphone that is run with XLR through a small 4-track mixing board that is then patched with a line-in minijack cable to my macbook pro. I currently use a combination of Audacity to record my basic track and apply some light filters which I occasionally filter a second time through GarageBand. As I record my voice track and monitor my own performance I can tell where my sweet spot on my microphone is located and adjust the placement of my head accordingly. When playing back my recording I can tell whether to add amplification, bass, or noise-level reduction to help clarify the read.
