The film was honoured at the 2002 FilmExchange: National Screen Institute’s (NSI) Canadian Film Festival Thursday, February 28th, 2002 in Winnipeg. The film was nominated for best screenplay and won for best picture and best actress (Storma Mcdonald) at the 2002 Black Film and Video Network in Toronto and was aired on Much Music and MTV.
