I am just beginning my work in voiceover. Ever since I was a teenager, I would be stopped in public by strangers who would tell me that I should "do movie trailers" or just that I had a very "impressive" voice. I was busy with college, graduate school, and various jobs and simply did not pursue it -- until now. I think the advice from that 500th stranger put me over the edge.
BA -- The University of Chicago
Master's -- The London School of Economics
While these are not voiceover-related degrees, I think my education clearly indicates my ability to read, comprehend and carefully and thoughtfully speak any conceivable material.
I am using a Samson condenser USB microphone on a shock mount with a pop filter. It is connected to my Apple computer, where I am using GarageBand to record, edit and produce my audio files. As a lifelong Apple user, I am very proficient with both my computer and this software.
I have also worked as an editor in an academic setting, and as a writer in a political setting. I know a thing or two about writing and speaking well.
