I have a mix of experience as a voice actor, distributed among work in radio, television and instructional voice overs, and some on-camera work, as well as experience in live literary performance (solo reader's theater) and theatrical stage work. I have also provided telephone greetings, on hold messages and voice mail recordings for businesses, and have narrated instructional multi-media programs. As an actor, I created and performed a variety of radio voices for a stage production entitled "1940s Radio Hour." Clients have included Barnes and Noble, Borders Books and Music, Pierce County Library District, Tacoma Public Library, Clover Park School District, Steilacoom School District, U. of Washington Media Services, U. of Washington School of Nursing, Washington State Department of Licensing, Video Recounters Ltd.
I received undergraduate instruction in acting, and later earned a master's degree in educational communications and technology, specializing in instruction design and media production. I worked for more than 10 years as a professional journalist and interviewer. I earned a J.D. in law, which included experience in oral argument, and I also competed with other law students to develop my client interviewing skills. As a graduate student, I was asked to provide narration for numerous student productions, as well as work produced by the university for broadcast. I developed my skills as an actor through more than 30 years of stage experience in both community and regional theater, in roles ranging from light comedy to classic drama.

Because I am an experienced writer, in addition to providing services as a voice over artist, I can often help producers refine scripts or resolve scripting problems. Also, as a journalist, I conducted many interviews with business persons, which allowed me to develop an understanding of what goods and services set them apart from their competition. This process can be helpful when deciding what information belongs in a commercial message.
