With 24 yrs. of on-air radio and television hosting & acting experience, I have done most every type of VO imaginable. I have been a VJ for MTV, hosted several shows on-camera on The Outdoor Channel, hosted nationally syndicated radio shows including "Hitline USA" where I interviewed everyone from Quincy Jones & Ice Cube to Sting, Slash, Cher & Bon Jovi. I have voiced and produced commercials for hundreds of hundreds of corporate accounts ranging from AT&T to Xerox. I also have dozens of companies, weighty in the motorsports industry, for whom I provide on-hold messaging and corporate imaging. My extensive resume also includes a large amount of Promo and Trailer voice work for Networks, including the "Big 4" of ABC, NBC, CBS & FOX as well as many of Cable Channels such as Oxygen, WE, The Outdoor Channel and more. My resume even includes programming for radio station shows in Japan!
I started in radio in Shreveport, LA while in college for an accounting degree (needless to say, I never finished that!) At the tender age of 23, I was offered nights at KIIS-FM in Los Angeles. I immediately began lots of acting classes including: Commercial Audition, Character Developement, Scene Study 1-4, Comedy, and more which only added to the types of characterizations I could incorporate into my voice over work.
"Back in the old days..." we produced everything ourselves in radio and I was no different. I started producing in 1986 and I created my first home studio back in 2000, and it's amazing how much equipment was needed at that time! Since then, I have downsized considerably, but the quality of my home work has escalated tremedously with the evolution of technology. I still have my original Rode Broadcaster Mic which has such a warm, nice tone. In addition I have the following to provide a full service operation from start to finish to broadcast: Mackie 1402-VLZ3 Board, DBX 166XL Compression/Gate Limiter, JBL Studio Monitors, Sony VAIO with XP Media, Adobe Audition Software, Sound Ideas Royalty Free Music Library and more. I can deliver on mp3, wav or cda, via email, CD, DVD, Cassette, SD, CF, MicroSD, or most other formats you may need.
While on the radio in Los Angeles, I did a remote broadcast at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, a premier 1/2 mile NASCAR race track and absolutely loved it! So much so, that in return for letting me race, I did the on track announcing and drove the pace car. After losing my radio gig, they asked me to become the Sales & Marketing Manager, where I was to oversee millions of dollars worth of accounts as well as bring in new clients & sponsors. I was very good at it and I loved it! This insight into the Marketing side of advertising gave me the unique ability to understand what is needed to best serve my clients and their needs, especially when it comes to my voice over work. Also, I am an "Idea" person! My wheels are always turning, thinking of ways to do things bigger and better. As a matter of fact, I even have two patents on different products and one of them is in the marketplace and has done very well!
