Most of my training has come through and continues to come through actual day to day, hands on experience. There have been too many people who have contributed to my growth and success over the years to mention them all here. However, there is one person who made a huge impact on my career that I'd like to single out. His name is Colvin Idol, a radio news director/television news anchor from Knoxville, Tennessee. Among other things, I probably learned more about the English language and how to use it from him than I did from all the other "teachers" I had combined. For that, I'm very grateful. I have also received training from The Defense Information School, and other institutions including the East Tennessee Broadcasting Academy, University of Maryland, University of Tennessee, and the University of Chicago.
In addition to being an on air/voice talent for over two decades, I also can write and edit a killer piece of copy (both short and longform). Daily, I put my audio production skills to work in the studio using cool edit pro/adobe audition. Other skills I've worked on over the years include some on camera work, video shooting and editing, basic website design, logo design, writing and editing for websites and print publications, and last but not least digital still photography.
