Most of my reading has been in the field of audio books, beginning with the early Audio Reader service for the visually impaired (voicing audio books as well as reading newspapers on a daily basis) and continuing with professionally produced books that have been well-received on the open market. I have garnered acclaim for my recent work, having received the Golden Earphones award from AudioFile Magazine for my work on "Anything but Typical" and been nominated for an Audie for my work on "Lawn Boy." I have also been involved in the radio industry, voicing commercials and promos heard in both Southeastern North Carolina as well as the Chicago market.
I make my living reading, preaching sermons that are broadcast over the internet in audio form every week.
My initial education was at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, MD where I was a Recording Arts and Science major in the Tonmeister program there. I also studied at Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, IL where I was the program director for their AM radio station. While there I did voice work for both the FM and AM radio stations--WONU. At the time WONU was the #2 Christian station in the Chicago market and #12 overall.
I currently work with Ableton software, a Focusrite mic strip, and record with a Heil PR-40 in a very nicely designed space that was custom tuned for my vocal range. I have a full-time engineer and two proofers who work exclusively with me.
I have an extensive vocabulary and am unafraid of acquiring new words. I am easily directable and aim to please those who are utilizing my voice services. I have a very laid back personality and my ego is always set aside to serve the needs of the customer--it's your project, and I want to provide exactly what you need to be happy with it.
