My experience in voice-over runs the gamut. I've recorded voice-over and ADR work for films I've been in as an on-screen actor. I've done promotional and ad-based voice work for products that I feel good about. I've also played characters in audio projects on both the student and professional level. One of the most interesting voice-over experiences I've had was playing a school shooter in a stage play, where my character's manifesto was played in voice-over during a blackout.
For me, that space between script and a finished project, where you really get to sound things out and build a character or an experience for an audience, where you're discovering exactly how this thing relates to the world, is one of the most exciting moments to be in as an actor.
I did two years of voice training at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, where I studied primarily to be a film and theater actor. I've also studied extensively with Alexander teacher Karen Braga, who has done voice over work for more than twenty years.
I use a Blue Yeti Pro for recording from home on smaller projects. I also live with two professional audio technicians, so if your project is budgeted that way, I can pull out all the stops.
I write and create content for my website Brash Pursuits. I've also written a few screenplays and plays, and feel very comfortable working on ad copy. I also love to improvise, and am very at home doing so in a variety of creative contexts.
