It started as quickly as my radio career, right after high school. I worked as an intern for a local morning show in Rochester, before flying solo doing overnights. Being stuck in a building by yourself for 8 hours gives you alot of time to hone your voice and production skills!
1 1/2 years later I had my own evening show and was Image Director for 3 stations, and the most requested voice and producer for a cluster of six stations owned by Cumulus Boradcasting.
After leaving in '08 to pursue production on my own, I started SmallTownBigSound Productions and began voicing internet stations, most notably on Live365.com. I produced for stations of all formats, inlcuding rock, classic rock, hip-hop, R&B, Jazz, country, bluegrass, and even Goth. Creepy....
I've attended several annual Conclave seminars(basically a big convention for radio dorks, which I was), which included classes on creating "effective ads and selling yourself", not just the product. Along with creating compelling radio that keeps listeners, well, listening!
I have also worked extensively, and learned MUCH from fellow colleague and friend John Russell, who is a very talented voice over and character-voice extrodinaire!!!
I am available at any hour of any day because my studio is my home-literally. My studio includes a Mackie 18-channel sound board, Apex A210 pre-amp/mic compressor, 2 custom-built computers with Adobe Audition and external hard drives with total capacity of 1 terabyte, encased in two steel industrial Hoffman enclosures. The mic booth, containing a Nuemann U47 micorphone, is also custom-built with double insulation and sound panels, meaning you'll just hear me, and not the recycling truck emptying my beer bottles...
I was probably about as interested in writing that last paragraph as you were to read it, but what I'm really trying to say is I have the stuff to do the job and am ready when you are!
I have produced back tracks for White Boi Fresh(Bubba Sparxx-signed artist), and produced concert ads for Epic Entertainment for Bubba Sparxx, Kid Rock, Shawn Jay, Young Dro and Sir Mix-A-Lot(I heard he prefers women with large posteriors...). I have also produced for stations around the globe, including Channel 27 in the UK, as well as the NRC Group in Avon Co, The St Loius Rams, The Shaw Cancer Treatment Center, KNRP in Nebraska, WIZM in LaCrosse WI, and countless ads in Minneapolis/St Paul, Rochester and Mankato MN markets.
My post-production promo and commercial work includes such voice over pros as Chaz Kelly, Chad Erickson and Jack Murphy. Holy #
amp;^, did I just name drop there? I'm such a, what's the good way to put this...lady of the night...?
