Big, natural, deep, ironic, dry, temperate, philosophical, welcoming. I've made my focus audiobooks and narratives because I'm an author, and as such I tend to like book-type items. I tend toward a naturalistic reading style, turning a book or voiceover into a transparent connection between text and audience. My voice itself tends to run deep, but I flex it well, and therefore will, especially when requested for the project, give characterization to speech, as in a novel or memoir, or when differentiation of voice is simply desired. I did this for my own books (You Are a Dog and We Are the Cat) both read in their entirety for Spokane Public Radio.

  I read both my books (You Are a Dog and We Are the Cat, published by Harmony/Random House) for on-air public radio broadcast, for which I created or re-created the voices of dogs, cats, children, neighbors, strangers, and UPS drivers. I furthermore was the voice of myself for several short films created by Scott Bateman's "Bateman365" project. I have also performed voiceover for community radio underwriters, and was an on-air radio personality (3 years) for KUPS FM in Tacoma, Washington. I regularly engage in public speaking, and have spoken to every age, gender and personality, as well as several species (dog, cat, squirrel, spider, toddler). Finally, some have said I love to hear my own voice almost as much as others love listening. Those who say this are far too kind. College radio work at KUPS and "on the mic" training at KPBX and KYRS. Behringer mic sound board. Author, writer, humorist. Me. I write funny. Also I can pretend to be angry. Especially when I'm angry. Or peeved. And I know about dogs and cats. And children. Also, I enjoy the occasional BLT.
