I started in the biz in 1969 as Air Talent in Radio, but I soon discovered my talents leaned towards voicing, as well as writing and producing radio commercials. I've won FIVE ADDY Awards---ONE Best-Of-Show "Charlie Award" for the Florida/Caribbean Regional ADDY’s---ONE Achievement In Radio (A.I.R.) Award--- FIFTEEN Radio And Production Awards for Excellence---ONE First Runner Up and ONE Second Runner Up Radio And Production Award for Best Commercial---SEVEN Missouri Broadcasting Association Second Place Awards---and FIVE Missouri Broadcasting Association Awards Of Excellence.
I can deliver voice tracks, both edited and unedited, as well as fully finished productions.
I've worked with the best talent over the years, as well as directed talent in producing my own commercials. In doing so, I keep an open mind and never assume I know everything.
As an aside, I've also done theatre thru the years, especially musical theatre. I've also done minor work in films and TV commercials.
I produce everything in ProTools on my iMac, using Heil PR40 mikes, rounted thru DBX Processing to a Wheatstone Board with fifteen faders and a master. Besides a CD/DVD player, VCR, Cassette, Reel-to Reel, Mini-Disc recorder/player, and a DAT recorder/player,I have some outboard toys, but rarely use them anymore since ProTools plug-ins give me any effect I need.
I utilize three different music packages and two different sound effect packages in my productions.
I feel a great work begins with the writing of a script, and it's up to the voice talent to make the words that are on the page jump out and grab the listener in a compelling manner.
Besides my own work with my own production company, Captain VoiceOver, I voice local, regional, and national productions for various agencies.
