About Steven
Member sinceFeb 5, 2008
I don't really know how to do this accurately, but to put my vocal range in perspective, I can harmonize with Barry Gibb's vocals on his falsetto parts in the Bee Gees recordings, as well as with Harold Reid, who is the bass singer for the Statler Brothers quartet. My own experimentation tells me that I can speak in just about any range that I take a mind to try, from a smooth, low tone to a high pitched 'cartoony' voice.
As a preface to my demos, I would like to apologize if they are of poor quality. As I am a husband and father of two with a modest income, I have no means to budget for any 'professional' equipment at this time. Perhaps something you hear on my low-budget 'homespun' recordings will enable me to upgrade in the near future.

Experience, training, and equipment
Too many experiences to count! I have been entertaining family and friends for about thirty years with my voices, and by their accounts "wasting my time" with any job other than doing radio, TV and commercials.
So here I am now at thirty-nine finally exploring the possibilities.
Obviously, with that background, I have no 'real' experience as far as professional use of my talent. However, I have used it in a public setting for many productions at church.
As I believe in a humble spirit, I will make absolutely no claims as to how good any of my impersonations, characters or accents are; I believe it is up to the listener to determine what hits the mark and what doesn't.
I have no formal training. I am blessed with a God-given talent for mimmickry and a wide vocal range, which I have gradually developed since about age ten.
For the most part, I have always had an ordinary "9 to 5" job of some sort, none of which I see directly relating to the broadcast or advertising realms of this field. However, as I do believe that knowledge is power, I feel obliged to mention areas in which I believe to possess an above average aptitude. These would include: 50's - 80's music (country, pop, r & b), stock-car racing, football and automobiles.
