About Steven
I don't have your traditional Radio DJ voice, as I have been an Audio Producer as long as I have been a Voice Talent. But that's the good news, why would you want an announcer who blends in with all of the chatter when you can get someone with experience and a unique sound that cuts through?
As a natural bass-baritone I have a deep, friendly yet compelling and persuasively resonant quality which also contains a nice bump in the high mid-range, a la James Earl Jones. This gives me the warmth and intimacy with a nice edge for clarity and translates very well to long form video, Discovery-type documentaries and eLearning projects.
I also have developed a nice "hard-sell" energy without being screechy, perfect for automobile dealerships and anything that needs that extra urgency.
I am a very good sight reader and pride myself on the ability to size up what a script needs in the way of pace, energy and pitch.
