1986 was the year my professional career took off. As a dj at a Top 40 radio station in Atlanta, my exposure was suddenly wide open and the jobs poured in. The television announcer career started at WATL, Fox 36, where I did nightly voice-over credits for all the family show re-runs like Family Ties and Night Court, as well as announcing for the new FOX Network's prime time line-up which included Married with Children and The Tracey Ullman Show.
From there, it was TBS (My voice ID'd TBS "You're watching TBS," every hour for nearly 2 years.)
Then TNT and The Family Channel for 6 solid years of work. On TNT, a fresh bi-monthly 3 minute voiced feature, "Hollywood Notes."
For The Family Channel, a full range of announcing services: promos for movies, prime-time line-up,daytime shows, holiday specials, etc.
Over 20 years of experience on the job, first of all in radio, then as a full-time freelance film, television and voice over actress in Atlanta and Boston. Hired by such greats as Larry Hagman, Carroll O'Connor, Wes Craven, and lesser nationally known but equally talented producers writers and directors in Atlanta and Boston.
Thousands of voiced commercials, hundreds of on-camera jobs. Here's a list a few of my previous voice over clients for national and regional (major-market) TV commercials, industrials, documentaries & radio spots:
Walt Disney World, Visa/1996 Olympics, IBM/World Book Encyclopedia, Reebok, Pamprin, K-Mart, Charter, Bell South, Macy's, Upton's, UPS, Bride Beautiful, Cypress Gardens, J.C. Penny, Texaco, Ford, Blue Cross/Blue Sheild, plus these national networks: TBS, TNT, The Family Channel, Encore, Turner Classic Movies, affiliates WATL, WXIA, WAGA, Atlanta, WCVB, Boston, etc.
B.A. English & Theatre, UNC-Asheville. Post graduate drama and writing studies, Oxford and Harvard Universities. Acting Training, Alliance Theatre School and Image Film & Video, Atlanta. Boston Center for Adult Education, NYC workshops, Eric Morris System, etc.
State of the art facility here at our radio stations. Axia board, Adobe Audition, the very best mics.
Addy award winning copywriter and audio actress.
English major and former English teacher. My producers through the years have gratefully counted on me to check their grammar, which I'm happy to do.
Super easy to work with, I take direction well, and have enjoyed tremendous long-term relationships with producers and directors through the years. But I don't require direction. I often fly solo on projects and am happy to provide a variety of takes from which the client can choose what works best for them.
