Little did I know that when I started to produce guided meditations and relaxing bedtime stories just for fun in 2014 that a good 10 years later, just my Swedish catalog would be streamed over 1.2 million times yearly. It was just something I did inbetween my dayjob as a profressional translator. I have an MA in English with a specialization in translation. This means that even though Swedish is my native language, I speak English fluently. Having lived in Canada for a while, my natural accent is North American. But being a linguist and fascinated by lanugages and accents, I can also do a British accent.
I started using my voice for singing. I sang in a choir for many hours every week as a teenager. I also did quite a bit of amateur theater. I took a class in audio editing in High School that I did not really know what I was going to do with at the time, but which ended up being quite useful in the end. I own my own publishing house (a very small one). I have produced approximately to 50 audiobooks for my publishing house at this point and have also helped audiobook narrators with the technical aspects of audio production when they first started.
I have a sound treated vocal booth at home. I use a Rode NT1A at the moment and an Apogee Duet Interface. There are no computers in my recording space making noise. The Apogee Duet connects to my phone and tablet and I use their app to record the voiceover. After that, all editing is done in Adobe Audition.
My voice tends to sound quite young.
