It began when I was about 18 years old. I was driving with a friend and listening to the radio, I was so frustrated by the dj that I blurted out "I could do better than that!" My friend challenged me to follow it up and I soon got a job at the local university radio station doing news spots. That evolved into a weekly three hour jazz show which I hosted for three years. While I enjoyed it I did not have the time to pursue voice work professionally. Twenty years later circumstance lead me to meet some film producers who make educational scientific series. Once again I said "I always thought I could do professional voice over work" they called a month later and after the first session (a one hour piece on antarctica) I did 50 or more segments over the next four years. They have moved on and I decided once again to proclaim that I can do voice work and you should give me a try.
As a musician and bandleader I am frequently speaking on mic in public. I am also a school teacher so I have a lot of opportunity to use my voice. As a musician I have extensive studio recording experience so the studio is not a foreign environment and I do not get nervous. As a trumpeter and singer I understand and use my extensive training reagarding proper breath support and resonance.
I have often been commended for my ability to deliver voice over scripts which allow listeners to easily follow and understand. I have always enjoyed voiceover work and I am confident that I can execute and deliver what is needed.
