What does a nurse have in common with a voiceover talent, they both are selling themselves to the public. As a nurse I sell people on health care and the advantage of healthy lifestyle choices. This is no different than my selling or convincing the listener that I am the real McCoy, whether I am selling cars or speaking to a group of people about stress management if I have accoplished what I set out to do then I have sold myself as a voiceover talent. I am a rookie at voiceovers but not to what people want and that is to feel like the person who is talking or speaking has them in mind. So why not give me a try, there is nothing to lose and a whole lot of voice to gain.
I have a degree in nursing, but I work with the public and it is important that I maintain effective communication between the clients I service and the medical providers I collaborate with. I also have done some acting classes for the non actor at Kings Borough Community College in Brooklyn, New York. I have public speaking experience and I have been a contributing writer for various nursing journals.
Everything that I put my talent to is done with professionalism, because I firmly believe your work is a reflection of yourself.
