Believe it or not, secretaries can have great practice and experience in the realm of voice talent. I should know since I had this front desk/phone job for three years. Depending on the situation I learned to manipulate my voice to be incredibly innocent, firm and all knowing, or sweet and welcoming. I've also had training through another "unlikely" avenue: waitstaff! Yes, it's absolutely true, a waitress is like an actress on stage which needs to know how to project her voice and be constantly aware of her tone. So, I realize this may not be your ordinary professional experience, but I'm confident that my voice is up to the challenge.
In high school I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in some theatrical performances which is great training for your voice. As I went through college I took some theater, english, and IPC classes which all dealt with speaking well in some form or another. Also, as a secretary, it was part of my job to set up he voicemail greetings.
I am a poet who enjoys reading out-loud. I'm creative and learn quickly. People always comment on how I have such a great personality.
