I am a qualified engineer and a sustainable designer, having an experience of more than 25 years in various systems maintenance/management and related services. The prime area of responsibility included maintenance of equipment and its serviceability to a maximum level, safety management systems, training and incident analysis. I am a qualified accident and human factor/errors investigator. In the same connection I have conducted numerous investigation involving fatalities and damage beyond economical repair. This gave me an opportunity to interact with professionals from other disciplines for fulfillment of my assigned duties as a team especially with doctors, psychologists and various subject specialists for expert opinion. This eventually led me to develop a skill set geared up to look for troubled spots and identification of their manifestations during day to day activities. Initially it was from a perspective of cost saving but with passage of time I realized it has a much greater effect on human existence and must be addressed on a much empathetic level. I have a specialization through a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Design where special focus is on best utilization of available resources and in the most cost effective manner respecting natural/local settings. I have conducted various workshops for training of human error/safety related issues. The main areas of focus for these Programs are Human Performance Limitations, Stress (psychological), Fatigue (physical), Communication skills and human interaction, Teamwork and Assertiveness. The complete process is concluded with the results for continual improvements and follow ups. This experience triggered an interest in writing and expressing my opinion in a very precise and effective way which is understandable and of value to others. I have a firm belief based on my past experiences and interactions that it can definitely make a difference if translated in a compassionate way.
