Ruthie Marantz is a filmmaker, who writes, directs and produces... ok and she acts sometimes. Born and raised in New York City. Her films have been screened in numerous festivals including: BAMcinemaFEST, MassART, Los Angeles Film Forum, New Museum, and the National Gallery in Washington D.C. She has her M.F.A. from NYU Graduate Film Program where she was recipient of the Leo Rosner, Maurice Kanbar, and the Academy of Arts and Sciences Scholarships. Spike Lee awarded her the Sandra Ifraimova Production Award for her upcoming TV Pilot "Rainbow Ruthie" currently in post production. She received the Riese Award and funding from the Caucus Foundation for completion of her pilot. Her last feature film she line produced, “From Nowhere,” won the Narrative Spotlight audience award 2016 SXSW Film Festival, and was acquired by FilmRise for 2017 release. During her downtime, she works as a branded content producer for clients such as Netflix, LG , Samsung, Vice Media, and Hearst. She is currently writing her TV series and first feature film. .
