After a stint in the US Navy, my voice career started in 1979 where I worked as a DJ for a small southeast Missouri radio station. The pressures of providing for a large family however, forced me to find other work and I began a career as an Investment adviser and stock broker for the next several years.
In the early 90's, the family moved to Roswell New Mexico where I once again plunged back into broadcasting, primarily at the urging of my father-in-law who was a local radio celebrity himself. It was during this time that I created a comedy music show modeled after the Dr. Dimento Show called The Weird Ron Show.
Through my radio show work, I have been asked to do voice over work for a variety of radio stations throughout the southwest US. To this day, I continue to do VOs for local station airing.
Currently I am the Gen Mgr and an on air talent for KPGZ, 102.7FM in Kansas City Mo. As such, I do all of the copy writing and most of the voice overs for spots I play on my station.
Voice work is done at the KPGZ studios where I have all the needed state-of-the-art equipment and software and a substantial music/SFX library to pull from. Samples of my work in both copy writing and voice over can be heard by listening to our simulcast online at 102.7thehog.org
