I am a beginner in the voice over industry. I have done a few corporate training videos for a previous employer (Laticrete International) as well as a spot on DIY Networks "I Want That". (Airing fall of 2012) for my current employer, Bostik, Inc.
I have a Bachelors in Business Administration. As part of that course work I was required to take several public speaking/presentation classes.
I have been in sales/sales management for over 20 years and have conducted hundreds of product demonstrations and presentations to thousands of people.
I have been taking classes and coaching sessions at EDGE Studios.
I was a member of Toastmasters, a group dedicated to the improvement of public speaking skills.
As a member of my church, I am the MC at an annual auction event that draws over 150 people. I entertain the crowd prior to the auction and also MC the auction. Additionally I am a member of our drama club and regularly perform in original plays and dramas.
I have a Rode NT1-A studio microphone with pop filter and shock mount, a tripod boom microphone stand, a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB recording interface, and an audio-technica ATH-M50's headphones.
I record onto a Windows 7 device using software from Audacity.
My skill with editing is average and I can easily record and conduct basic editing including deleting sections and splicing together various pieces from different recording sessions to produce a final cut.
I also can add sound and music to my voice over tracks and I know how to export and send into various formats including AIF, WAV, and MP3.
I have been using my voice to educate consumers and sell products for over 20 years. I have spent a great deal of time learning about proper speaking and presenting skills and have attended dozens of different educational programs to hone my speaking skills.
I have a high degree of business acumen and clear understanding of product marketing. All of my business skills as well as my newly learned voice over skills will be an asset to any project I take on.
