Accents are some of my favorite voices to perform in. I'm a native Midwest/American speaker, but Southern American English, RP English, New York, Russian, and Cockney English accents come naturally to me. I pick up other accents quickly.
In the past, I've done:
- nasally/New York voices like Rhoda from "White Christmas,"
- falsetto voices like Pinocchio or the Gingerbread Man from "Shrek: The Musical,"
- motherly voices such as Marmee from "Little Women,"
- dude-bro/surfer-dude characters,
- authoritative and commanding characters like the Ghost of Christmas Past from "A
Christmas Carol" and Princess Escalus from "Romeo and Juliet,"
- cartoonish elderly women like Mrs. Paddy from "The Curious Savage" or Grand
Duchess Olga Katrina from "You Can't Take It With You,"
- clear and warm tones for reading,
- as well as romantic leads like Frances from "The Voice of the Prairie."
I also have a long history of singing in various settings.
