Over the past decade I've done a wide range of professional voiceover work, including narration for documentaries (historical, literary, religious and scientific topics), characters in audio dramas, instructional websites, animated characters, and commercials. My voice can be heard alongside those of several prominent actors, including Kevin Kline and Karina Arroyave (major role on "24"). I've employed numerous accents including French, Spanish and German, as well as a variety of British and American regional accents. The genre and tone of my projects has varied widely, from extremely dry scholarly material to over-the-top goofy comedy and everything in between.
I've studied voiceover with Lisa Fischoff (major VO casting director in NYC), as well as acting and improv with several teachers at HB Studio in Manhattan. I also have extensive music training, including a master's degree. I'm a full-time actor based in New York; in addition to voiceover work, I perform frequently in theatre, film and television.
My home studio includes excellent Samson and Zoom microphones, and I use a variety of recording/editing software including Sonar LE, Cakewalk, Audacity and AVS.
I have a broad educational background including degrees in English, music, math and library science. I'm a voracious reader of fiction, mostly 20th-century and contemporary novels. Before becoming an actor and voice artist, I was employed in a variety of fields, including math education, law, librarianship, recording and music publishing. All this experience has made me a bit of a "Renaissance man," which has been a huge help in my acting career; I've worked with and can identify with a huge variety of people from many walks of life, many different social classes, and many different countries. I'm also a good-natured, cheerful, positive, optimistic person with a good sense of humor; I am very open and flexible in any collaborative creative situation, I like to work, I like to play, and I like to get it right.
