Joelle Marie is an actor and improvisor, as well as an audiobook narrator and author of four award-winning novels. After working in these fields for more than two decades, she understands time is of the essence and aims to get your project back to you as soon as possible (delivering pristine, clean files designed to save you tons of time in post). This is what she does full-time and she aims to make your project shine.
Witty, warm, articulate, and naturally engaging, Joelle Marie Kelly’s voice combines an authentic, conversational quality with polished professional delivery. Clear and expressive without sounding overly performed, her voice has a bright, approachable presence that immediately connects with listeners.
Versatile and emotionally intelligent, Joelle Marie’s vocal style can be warm and reassuring, confident and authoritative, sophisticated and professional, or energetic, playful, and upbeat. Her natural phrasing and expressive tonal range make her especially effective for commercial voiceover, corporate narration, eLearning, documentary narration, podcasts, political and institutional messaging, healthcare, public service announcements, and character-driven storytelling.
Her voice feels genuine, relatable, trustworthy, and contemporary—more like a compelling real person speaking directly to you than a traditional announcer.
Joëlle Marie Kelly (aka Joelle Anthony) is an award-winning American/Canadian novelist, screenwriter, audiobook narrator, actor, and playwright whose work spans young adult and middle grade fiction, literary fiction, dramatic podcasts, audiobooks, screenwriting, and musical theatre. Her acclaimed novels include Restoring Harmony, Speed of Life, A Month of Mondays, and The Right & the Real, with The Right & the Real also available as an audiobook performed by Joëlle.
A versatile storyteller with a background in acting and performance, Joëlle trained at The Player’s Workshop of Chicago and completed an intensive audiobook narration certificate course taught by renowned narrators Patrick Fraley and Scott Brick. Her passion for bringing stories to life across multiple mediums is reflected in her work as both a writer and performer.
Joëlle’s novel Speed of Life—her third novel and a White Pine nominee—has earned critical praise for its authentic portrayal of working-class youth. Publishers Weekly hailed it as “a believable portrait of blue-collar teens struggling to make it work against tough odds.” Her screenplay adaptation of Speed of Life was selected as a 2022 Second Rounder at the Austin Film Festival, and the feature film adaptation has attracted a director who is currently shopping the project, with a producer.
Her award-winning middle grade novel A Month of Mondays, published in 2017, was selected for the OLA Forest of Reading Summer Reading List, received a VOYA Top Shelf Award, and was a 2019 Chocolate Lily Award nominee. These honors reflect Joëlle’s ability to create compelling, emotionally resonant stories for young readers while tackling universal themes of friendship, identity, family, resilience, and growing up.
Joëlle’s novel Restoring Harmony is also expanding beyond the page as a ten-episode dramatic podcast, called Handsome Molly, bringing her storytelling to the rapidly growing world of audio fiction. Available now.
Her creative work extends into theatre and musical theatre. Together with her late husband, singer-songwriter and actor Victor Anthony, Joëlle wrote the book for and workshopped the original stage musical Round the Bend at Salt Creek, further establishing her as a multidisciplinary storyteller whose work moves fluidly between novels, screenplays, audio drama, performance, and the stage.
Joëlle has also pursued advanced acting and professional development in New York City, studying at the renowned Atlantic Theater Company with support from Professional Development Grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and BC Arts Council, as well as a partial merit scholarship from Atlantic Theater Company.
Whether writing novels, adapting stories for film, performing audiobooks, developing dramatic podcasts, or creating for the stage, Joëlle Marie Kelly brings a distinctive combination of award-winning storytelling, performance expertise, and cross-platform creativity to every project.
