Like a diamond in the rough - I might not seem as an attractive hire, since I haven't yet been given a chance to shine. However, I will make up for it with unbelievable talent, unwavering patience and understanding when not to be modest (I swear the bragging here is only due to necessity). I am eager to work together towards Your goal!
Consistency and clarity of the voice have become a habit for me after extensive on-stage experience - theatre, musical, improv, opera, compère, abstract theatre - with guidance by professionals of the given craft. I have worked with film students in BFM, Estonia's most respected film school, where I've read lines in the sound booth, in addition to my on-screen roles. In my free time, I have spent countless hours listening to voice artists whose work I admire, hearing their approaches and trying my own spin on their work. I tease myself dreaming of one day being the Estonian voice for those characters.
I can easily sing in character, even in a heavily altered voice. Baritone is my natural voice type in choirs, but currently I sing as a tenor, since I have the necessary range and tenors are scarce. I can do almost any male voice that is asked of me, singing and speaking.
Vocal exercises are part of my everyday life. I routinely practice my chest voice, vocal range and endurance, character voices, whistle notes, subharmonic bass, polyphonic singing and various sound effects (for example: phone vibration, crickets, birds). Those strange vocal tricks are a great way to stay well-rounded.
Apparently I have always had an intrinsic desire to create interesting sounds. As a shy kindergarten-aged boy I taught myself to mimic the birds' chirps and got cheered for the effort I put into perfecting it. That's where it all started, I'm sure.
