I recorded more than 60 promos and liners for 1450 WILM Newsradio when I worked there a number of years ago. For a time mine was the "voice" of the radio station.
At various times there I was also a news anchor, sports anchor, reporter, and community affairs program host.
As a sports anchor I used my voice differently, e.g., it was more excitable. I tried to engage the listener as a guy who was like him/her, a lover of sports.
I also did a handful of play-by-play for Wesley College (Dover, DE) men's and women's basketball via the Internet.
Connecticut School of Broadcasting, 1997. I completed the part-time program from March-June.
I began studies with the Such A Voice program earlier this year but had to withdraw due to financial considerations.
Peavey audio board, Shure SM58 mic, Stedman Proscreen XL pop filter, and Sennheiser HD 280 pro headphones.
I am a hard worker and something of a perfectionist. At the same time, I do not need a hundred takes to put down a good track. My work in radio, where as an anchor I did cold reads all the time, really helped me to hone in on how I wanted to project the information. Had to nail it the first time. For voiceovers, the opportunity to rehearse the copy will allow me to really fine tune the presentation.
I love sports, with a background as a sports reporter/anchor and play-by-play broadcaster (briefly). I was a competition official in track and field at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. So I worked under intense scrutiny from the international athletics authorities, not to mention 85,000 people in Olympic Stadium and a billion or so people watching around the world.
I love news, politics and history and would particularly enjoy narration for any of the above.
