Voice-over is performing "behind the scene". You can delete, edit, add special effects, produce and deliver whatever product a client requires.
As a French Language Teacher, I had to use my "voice as a tool" for recording, preparing, delivering training, presentations, videos etc.
Working for 3 years as a radio announcer/journalist/
newscaster for Radio-Canada in Lahr, Germany (Radio des Forces canadiennes (RFC),I did many recordings of interviews with national, international and local personalities; researched, developed, interviewed, recorded and edited for weekly programs on a variety of subjects(wine making, festivals, women's issues, medical concerns, local activities, sports tournaments,Christmas and other Holidays etc.;recorded and edited for promos, commercials, infomercials on travels, special events, festivals, shopping, new products etc.; researched, recorded and edited short documentaries and other projects(life of military spouse, life of soldier, life of an ex-pat,culinary Olympics etc.;prepared and read newscasts;covered various events as live-announcer (Military deployment, Vimy Ridge ceremonies, military activities, visits of dignitaries etc.
Communications New-Brunswick hired me to work on various projects: training video for Elections N-B; narration
of "Le village acadien de Caraquet", "Adoptez un cours d'eau" etc.; various commercials on beef, summer BBQs, depression, battered women, youth employment etc.
Rogers Cable hired my services for cooking shows, interviews on-camera on various subjects
(investment, music, movies, retirement, aging etc.),coverage of various events or current affairs as live-announcer.
Canadian Forces Base Gagetown (NB)hired me to narrate a documentary on "Welcome to CFB Gagetown".
Bachelor's degree in Education from Université de Montréal.
Had my own Language Training Company where I developed, recorded, delivered training, presentations etc.
While at RFC in Lahr, Germany, I was coached by a professional announcer from Radio-Canada Montreal. As well, I did all the technical aspects of media production: use of microphones, tape recorders, edition of reel to reel tapes and addition of music, news timing and reading etc.
Various other jobs (National Leader for HR projects, Protocol Officer for Foreign Affairs, Director Family Resource Centre UK,Training Consultant for Government Departments)gave me the opportunity to participate in workshops, seminars, trainings, deliver presentations, represent companies and country, act as spokesperson, again using my "voice as a tool" to pass on the message and become better at what I love to do i.e. Communicate, Deliver a message, Inform, Develop people's curiosity and interest for a product or service, BE the voice they "trust" and enjoy hearing...

I have no "professional" performing arts training but I'm told that I should have been in theatre. I love to dress up and immerse myself in the character to a point where friends don't recognize me or my voice.
I enjoy watching television and listening to radio for commercials or publicity on products or services.
I enjoy movies, music, theatre, performing arts, dance, reading, writing, documentaries, travelling, sports, cooking, decorating, house hunting, shopping etc.: these activities often rely on voice over services for their success. I listen to the way "the message" is packaged and presented and analyze it in order to understand the production of a good voice-over. It helps refine my craft and avoid the pitfalls.
I have travelled extensively, lived and worked abroad, met many people and acquired a good understanding of human nature and the people's likes and dislikes.
Voice-over is another form of marketing: packaging and delivering the message properly is essential for the survival of the product or service.
Listening skills, analyzing skills and people skills are very important to support voice over services.
I believe I possess these skills and I am ready to put them to good use in a voice over career.
