I began doing voiceovers for testing, new business pitches, and/or client materials at the ad agency where I worked, and then made a demo at a local studio. I have been lucky to work professionally for the past ten years, for such clients as - Discover Card, Greater Richmond Area Honda Dealers, Virginia Dept. of Health, CornerStone Bank, Virginia Dept. of Transportation (VDOT), Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg, Ariel Preferred Outlet Malls, First Capital Bank, Hannaford Supermarkets, and some political and medical campaigns.
I made my current demo reel and had coaching lessons with Marla Kirban Voiceovers in NYC.
I have a Master's degree in Music/Vocal Performance - Opera Concentration, so I have extensive vocal training. I have taken voice and acting lessons since I was eight years old, and performed in plays/musicals/operas since that age, and all throughout my education. (Middle school through Graduate school)
I worked at an advertising agency in the Talent dept., and got my start in voiceovers by helping out in the production of materials for testing, clients, pitches, etc. I made a demo and was lucky to get a lot of professional gigs in the Richmond area. I wanted to branch out into other markets, so I began taking lessons at Marla Kirban Voiceovers in NYC. I recorded a new demo with them and am hoping to be competitive in the national market. I moved to NYC in 2011 and have continued my voiceover career.
I have a MacBook with Garage Band and a USB mic (Samson Q1U) that I use in my home studio, but I am lucky to have relationships with local studios, whom I do work for often. They are fully functional, professional studios, with state-of-the-art equipment, and sound engineers. They are capable of finishing and editing the voice tracks in any way necessary. If projects needed more editing than I could provide, I could contract out the work and bill accordingly.
Having worked in an ad agency for several years, I am very experienced in the world of voiceovers, on both sides. (As the talent, and the business manager as well). Also, my relationships with owners of a local studios helps me get the best materials possible to any clients who are interested in my services.
I love the VO business, and look forward to working on new, exciting projects!
