Most of my voice experience has been in live narrations for concerts and plays, as well as some roles in community theater. I have also recorded books on tape for non-profit organizations; these ranged from novels to children's books, requiring a variety of characterizations.
I also sing bass in choirs and quartets. This music experience has helped me develop control over my instrument, and provided me with a good ear for the inflections, tonality, and tempo changes necessary to maintain the listeners' interest.
I am employed full-time as an engineering consultant, specializing in electronics and software-based systems. I have more than 35 years experience in audio systems, and am fully versed in recording methods and technology.
My studio is spartan, but I am more than sufficiently equipped to produce high-quality voice recordings suitable for CDs and broadcast. I use a PC-based recording system, including high-qualilty cardiod condenser microphone and equalization and editing software.
In addition to my voice skills, I am also a proficient writer, editor, and copywriter. As necessary and upon request, I can fine-tune scripts to improve comprehension, reduce wordiness, enliven dialog, and so on.
I have also developed scripts for Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems, and am therefore familiar with the vocal intonations and timings required for these systems.
As a devout Christian, I am especially interested in providing voice-over work for faith-based organizations.
