A nice variety of documentary, promotional, audio-book and poetry presentation work. Plus a highly entertaining venture for Gwylock involving a well-received Dr Who fiftieth anniversary tribute.
At the start of my career I was a Production Assistant on "How It Is" BBC TV's pivotal weekly arts features magazine show. Later as Line Producer and then Post-Production Producer on "All You Need Is Love" Tony Palmer's great classic story of popular music, I was closely involved in the dubbing of 17 hours of television, recently released on DVD. Next, for Theatre Projects Film Productions, I produced films directed by Adrian Maben on James Brown and Chicago Blues as well as commercials for such as Nigerian Telecoms.
While Parliamentary Press Officer for David Steel when he was Leader of the British Liberal Party, I was often called on to contribute to radio and tv news and current affairs programmes. I also helped develop the Autocue front screen system when David Steel was the first political leader in the UK to use it. I oversaw production of highly commended party election broadcasts directed by Justin Cartwright and co-ordinated media coverage for the Liberal Party and the SDP/Liberal Alliance at one European and two General Elections.
Over 25 years of work as a campaigning public affairs consultant included frequent opportunities to advise numerous senior public, private and third sector executives as well as politicians on how best to voice their views. That experience maintained and developed considerable familiarity with studios, scripts, deadlines and good production values.
Vocally, those years have also been enriched by singing. First for the London Welsh Chorale and since 1998 as a Second Bass for the BBC Symphony Chorus. which helps keep me at the cutting edge of broadcast production since everything we do is for broadcast on radio or tv and we frequently make CDs or collaborate in film documentary projects.
In recent years I have been developing a solo practice with concerts at Clapham Omnibus and Peppers in Fishguard.
Gary Terzza's VoMasterClass gave me my first proper training in voice over - and thank you Gary, it was terrific.
