In high school I started amateur acting along with my interest in radio; radio took over when I got to college, until I was Music Director at WSIU-FM in Carbondale, IL--a post I held for 14 years, appearing 17 hours per week on air from 1976 to 1991. I moved to Chicago in 1991, and mostly focused on public speaking (lectures, readings from my book on Japanese cartoons).
Acting classes and amateur dramatics at Morton West High School, Berwyn, 1966-1970; Bachelor's in Speech from Illinois Wesleyan, Bloomington, IL--1974; Master's in Speech from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, 1975; Music Director at WSIU 1976 to 1991 (being on-air 17 hours/week, including production of radio drama version of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol"); lectures on Japanese animation in Chicago, Minneapolis, San Francisco and at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC.
Since childhood I've had a fairly good ear for cartoon voices.
