Most of my experience has been minimal but I started doing voice overs to use as a personal sound bytes for house music tracks I would produce. The bytes would range from serious and dramatic to goofy and extraterrestrial characters. Overtime my skills developed more and more, as I would record voices for the comic books and graphic novels I would write, design and illustrate from the age of 12 until now.
It wasn't until I was asked to perform in a readthrough workshop of an original theatrical work written by my Acting professor and University advisor Alan Wade. The piece was titled Barbellion based on Bruce Frederick Cummings's published diaries: The Journal of a Disappointed Man, upon which he used the pseudonym W.N.P. Barbellion. I played the role of the narrator following a frank account of Barbellion's physical challenges, a resignation to his fate, and the immediate sensation which ensued from his trials and tribulations.
The following theatrical piece that followed another original piece called "Jimmy Earl's Defense" written by Kellie Turner. I was cast as the Voice of God. The production called for my role to be a disembodied voice. While the performances were live, certain aspects of them required voice overs and recorded audio.
The next project that followed was ADR for a short film I was cast in as a extra named "Paramour" directed by Maba Ba. The movie was released at the Urban World Film Festival in 2010, and screened at this year's Black Harvest Film Fest.
