Becky London - audiobook narrator, actor, and coach - was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she grew up in a Jewish family full of doctors and nurses. She’s spent some time in New Haven and in Los Angeles, but now lives in New York City and considers herself a pure New Yorker through and through.
A graduate of the Yale School of Drama, Becky is a founding member of UNYYC (the Unofficial New York Yale Cabaret), and a senior faculty member at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. She has been acting, mostly in comedy, with great joy and abandon for years. Her work has ranged from the hilarious Off-Broadway “Vampire Lesbians of Sodom” to the sobering film “United 93”.
Outside of performing, Becky has worked as a medical transcriptionist and is fluent in medical terminology. She’s an expert in film history all the way back to the beginning of the industry, conversant in American Sign Language and enjoys running, baking, and painting.
Throughout her life, Becky has negotiated many bumps in the road - she can speak deeply and personally about difficult subjects such as depression, eating disorders, widowhood and being a single parent.
Becky finds Nonfiction delicious, especially self-help for women, and histories of all kinds. She enjoys narrating mysteries, (cozy and otherwise), Sci-Fi and Fantasy.
Listeners trust her combination of dry humor and dead-on honesty. She brings truth and intensity to her characters, and finds the emotional heart of the story, Fiction and Nonfiction alike.
