A client that I've done a lot of narrative work for once paid me a compliment that I've never forgotten. She said "you have a voice that leaves the listener wanting to hear more" My voiceover career includes commercials for radio and television, video narrations for hotels, companies and tours. I do many telephonic recordings for automated answering systems and on hold messaging. I have worked with high profile clients, but I am not a "namedropper" because to me, the most important piece of work is my next one. Which may be for you.
My training really started in the many years I spent touring as a musician with lots of time in studios and radio stations. I've also been a creative writer all my life. In 1989 I got the opportunity to host a jazz/new age radio show called "Desert Dreamscapes"at KEYV 93.1 fm in Las Vegas. Two years of great artistic freedom that opened the door to many new avenues of expression and learning in areas of production, copywriting and producing for other voice talents.
My additional skills would include being a published writer, as well as possessing an excellent vocabulary. I have a degree in wildlife biology which is very useful when working with technical scripts that utilize scientific, chemical, medical and biologic terminology. I still play guitar, albeit not for a living anymore. Copywriting and conceptualizing campaigns for clients is something I enjoy as much as voiceovers. Also, I am a "Documentary Junkie"!!!!!
