Although I haven't done any professional work, in school I've voiced commercials, and PSA for our radio station. I've also done voice over work for a couple of video poetry films, with an art group in Chicago called Gallery 37.
I attended a trade school for Radio and Television Broadcasting, The Illinois Center for Broadcasting. There I was trained in all the basic aspects of broadcasting, including voice over work. We had a student run radio station that I had a weekly shift on. I also voiced and produced promos for the station.
I've been working behind the scenes in Television for a few years now. I enjoy television, but voice over work has always been something I've wanted to get into. When I was very young I wanted to be a puppeteer for Jim Henson. I used to practice voices, and buy funny puppets. I was a very creative little girl. The most fun I had in broadcasting school was doing voice over work. I would be silly, and over the top, and play different characters, it was just pure fun. I can't wait to put a voice over demo together, and maybe even get a voice coach. I would like to work on different accents and dialects.
