Primary week night news anchor NBC-5 Dallas. My 40 year broadcast industry career ranged from reporter to chief correspondent and primary anchor in the 5th largest US market. My experience also includes extensive narration for film, television, radio production, audio books and character performance for major music productions. My work is based on the wisdom given me by my father, who convinced me early in my career, "words on paper need a human voice, steeped in emotion and understanding, to bring them to life."
I started my broadcast career at age 16 in Springfield, Missouri. My radio broadcasting career then took me to Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Denver and Dallas,.
Transitioning to television news my career took me to KHOU (CBS) in Houston and then NBC-5 in Dallas.
I have been privileged to learn my craft from broadcast legends Curt Brown, Charlie Van Dyke, Jerry Lewis, Casey Kasem, Travis Linn and many others. My professional coaches have included Barry Nash, Laura Hernandez, Joni Brander, Maurice Tobias and a number of coaches from AR&D, Frank Magid and M&M.
I currently use an Electro-Voice RE20 and Neumann u87 in an IsoVox studio. I record and edit with Adobe Creative Suite on a MacPro (2023 version).
