In 2005 I came runner-up in the British Gas (major UK utilities company) search for the new voice of their IVR. I have a CD of my own IVR recordings that I will always treasure. I also worked as a freelance TV presenter in 2003/4 on Sky Sports Xtra (national satellite sports channel) and have presented various radio shows at University between the years 2001-2004.
I completed a broadcast journalism degree that included a lot of voice acting work; tv presenting, newsreading, news reporting, tv / radio interviewing, radio presentation, producing radio beds and stings using my own voice and reading set pieces written by others. I also had a module that was called Vocal Coaching, which taught me to use the whole of my voice, how to warm up before using my voice and the basics of good sight-reading.
I believe I would make an excellent voice actor; I'm looking to expand my horizons in terms of my job role so I think I would be an excellent choice. I'm also extremely flexible and easy to get on with, I'm very personable and enjoy socialising in my spare time. My dream is to get back into presenting, either on TV or radio, at some point in my life. However at the moment I'm content to use Voice123 to make a bit of extra money and help build my portfolio.
