I've been making funny noises with my mouth as long as I can remember, and I've begun to perfect the art of honing my prowess. I've never recorded a voice-over project, but I practice my art every day, be it narration of a comic, creating an original monologue based on and in the persona of characters, and even singing songs in some characters' voices, then trying again with a different character. I've been making music for as long as I can remember as well, so the knowledge of knowing what sounds work well with others and what sounds won't has helped me find voices for characters and introduced me to some accents I have yet to nail. My equipment layout is a Yeti Blackout with a pop filter and VEGAS Movie Studio 15 Suite.
