Picture the scene... 1980's disco scene, I was there... The voice behind the mic, the archetypical DJ, which I managed to do for 8 years. I was also on local radio for about 1 year before leaving the UK for sunnier climes and better money.
My younger days I was trained as a singer because of my voice, which fell to nature and 'broke' (sigh) ... Giving me the presence on mic and voice projection. Following this, I had 8 years as a Disk Jockey including a weekly show on a local radio for an hour, over a 1 year period.
I have been told by many people that I have a good voice for radio. Since arriving in Ohio, I have been stopped in malls, parking lots and even a syndicated radio station just so the a person could talk to me and hear my accent. A little like the Geico Gekko, without the East London accent (although that could be arranged)
