Experience in improv and stand-up comedy, writing and producing original films, former life as a vet tech, regular volunteer with kids at a therapeutic horseback riding program, I can meow like a cat (is this useful to anyone? idk!), former gifted kid, current neurodivergent adult, strict pizzatarian
Growing up, I was a Nickelodeon kid, not a Disney kid. Which should tell you pretty much everything you need to know about . I was chosen to read aloud in middle school by my classmates so often that my teacher eventually started calling me "Popcorn Melissa." In my high school musical theatre years, I was always cast as the comic relief and never the ingenue (SIGH). I would later learn that playing the pretty one was pretty boring.
Today, I've got a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre and Performance Studies, a SAG-AFTRA card, and nearly two decades of professional experience in the entertainment industry as an on-camera talent. Throughout my career/life, I've been told many times how authentic my voice is, and I've finally taken the plunge into the wonderful world of voice acting and began training as a voiceover artist in 2024. Now I've got my home studio up and running, and I'm ready to record your next greatest hit!
