About Melani
I am a South African actress and Voice Artist currently based in the Atlanta, GA area. I have been recording for over 20 years, specializing in TV and Radio commercials, narration, explainer videos, audiobooks, animated characters, dubbing and e-learning. I also edit and proof read. I have a fully equipped home studio and can send raw wav files, Mp3 or edit as required. I can offer a quick turnaround time, usually within 24 hours.
I am also a choreographer, dancer and singer. I studied Musical Theatre at the Pretoria Technikon where I was trained in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Spanish, Scottish, Contemporary, Jazz and African Dance. Upon leaving school, I obtained my A.I.D.T Associates in Tap Dance and Hip Hop. After working in Eqypt as a singer, I appeared in many professional musicals in South Africa and abroad, including the world tour of Cats (original cast), Fame, Evita and the SA/European tour of Showboat (which I also choreographed). In the USA I have appeared in Regional productions of Into the Woods (Jack’s Mother), Anything Goes (Reno), 42nd Street (Dorothy Brock), Annie (Miss Hannigan), A Chorus Line (Cassie) and Mamma Mia! (Donna), for which I received numerous Best Actress in a Musical nominations. In addition to my stage work, I have been teaching Musical Theater Dance and Tap for over 20 years. I have worked as a freelance choreographer and master class teacher for various dance/performing arts companies and high schools in the DMV area and internationally.
I am married and have been blessed with 4 amazing children.
