Coming to voice acting from warehousing and various service industries has provided me with a real-world sense of hospitality and collaboration. As a trained voice talent, I have established an understanding of copy composition, vocal technique, and how to coax the best sound out of a microphone. Working as a bartender let me have a lot of real conversations with very different people all while still providing a service and this lets me bring a very natural conversational quality to the recordings. The deep tone and rich timbre of my voice is attention grabbing and the enthusiasm and sense of real emotion brought to the copy will keep those fickle few from reaching for the skip button or dial. I come with a wide variety of firsthand experience in the fields that people advertise for. This allows me to provide your commercials or technical videos with experience that research alone can only provide an aspect of. - Experience, training, and equipmentI spent my time in school in a balance between arts, science, and desktop publishing classes. Early music education provided me with a sense of rhythm and pitch. I have performed on various stages in vocal, instrumental, and promotional roles in front of intimate and larger crowds. Years of reading philosophical and scientific texts, and process manuals makes me very comfortable with technical copy as well as character based emotionally driven-scripts. I'm involved in athletics as both a participant and a promoter which affords me a live opportunity to refine a sense of empathic engagement and humorous timing. My formal training was from Brian S. Atwood of Brian S Atwood Voice-Overs (http://www.briansatwood.com/). The lessons covered aspects of voice technique and copy composition. During the course of the program we worked through a wide range of material to provide me with a solid understanding of what makes different types of scripts come to life. My personal recording equipment includes: A sound-treated recording space MXL-990 Microphone Zoom H5 Recorder Audacity HP TG01-0023W I also have access to a local studio with a VocalBooth.com Platinum Series double-walled booth, Shure KSM27 microphone SM Pro Audio TB202 Tube PreAmp, Audacity, HP 270-P024, Source-Connect, and phone patch in-studio. I can send all file formats (WAV, mp3, AIFF, etc.) as needed, on demand.
