About Matt
My commercials are friendly, warm and humorous, and respectful of the client. They are professional but sound like a real person, sharp and articulate but not a standard announcer.
I excel at dry, sarcastic and silly reads. I am similar in tome, voice and delivery to actors John Krasinski and Denis Leary.
I have a very broad range when it comes to promos, from adult animation to teen drama I make it work and have a very fun time doing so.
I love recording audiobooks of all kinds, I take great pleasure in acting out the roles while being a solid and consistent narrator.
For presentations and industrials I am solid and professional, concise and engaging.
For animation I am uninhibited and funny, in roles, fully inhabiting characters from nerdy teens to cranky old men, or polysexual penguins if that's what's called for.
For trailers I have a sound that is an alternative to the 'in a world...' cliche, that is very professional and fun.
For news and podcasts, I draw on my experience as a former New York disk jockey and Sirius/XM personality, along with my current work as a freelance voiceover talent, and find a perfect mix that is half broadcaster, half narrator, while remaining personable and genuine.

- Additional vocal abilitiesI can do a Southern accent, and many regional New York accents such as Brooklyn. I can do excellent impersonate many of the popular animated characters on Adult Swim, including Meatwad of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Dr. Girlfriend of Venture Bros., and Roger the Alien from American Dad. Apropos of Roger, I can do a spot on impression of actor Paul Lynde, the inspiration for the character. I also do an excellent impression of ice cream pitchman Tom Carvel. I can do very humorous takes on broadcasters such as FM djs, AM talk hosts, and sportsasters. I am able to do a very accurate impersonation of a person using a stoma.
- Experience, training, and equipmentI was an on air personality for several years at New York rock stations WXRK (K-ROCK), and WAXQ (Q-104). Following that, I hosted an interactive talk show based on videogames for internet startup eYada.com. After that, I was a rock radio personality, news director, and programmer for Sirius-XM. I've voiced audio documentaries on bands including U2 and Aerosmith. I was an intern at K-Rock for several years before becoming on-air talent and in-house voice of promos and commercials. Since deciding to become a freelance voice talent, I've spent about a year training with Peter Rofe, and I have worked with him to produce many reels, which you can hear on my website (http://mattsager.com).
