About Matthew
Matthew Chavez is a New York based artist focused on creating media and works that encourage expression, provide catharsis, and develop community. He has produced professional audio at his home studio for the last 6 years, and specializes in commercial VO. Amongst other artistic endeavors, Chavez is the creator of Subway Therapy, an ongoing immersive project in the subway stations of New York City that received the 2017 Brendan Gill Prize and earned Chavez the Demos Transforming America Award. His work often explores interpersonal connection, social issues, and stress. As an author and speaker, Chavez aims to empower and inspire others, particularly young people.
