Marty Neilan is a voice actor, narrator, published songwriter, and professional screenwriter. He recently narrated Ballantine Books’ REBOUNDERS by Rick Newman.
Eight of Marty’s fifteen feature scripts have received offers, four several apiece(can confirm with contracts). Virtually all have led to open door policies with the many companies who’ve read and enjoyed them. One romantic comedy, WHERE IS TRIBECA?, has received several offers and was optioned for Academy-Award winning actress Halle Berry by her longtime manager and producer, Vincent Cirrincione. Martin’s drama, THE TORRES SISTERS, has also received multiple offers, including an option/purchase offer from Evamere Films—formerly Hart Sharp Entertainment—the folks behind “Boys Don’t Cry”, “You Can Count on Me”, and last year’s critical smash, “Revolutionary Road". Several name actors are attached to his teen comedy, MICHELLE LOVED FURNITURE. Martin’s spy thriller, THE LONGEST SUNSET, is being packaged by a Canadian company. Finally, another spy thriller and historical drama he authored, THE TIP OF THE SPEAR, has found a sponsor with a producer of the “The Hurt Locker”, winner of six Academy Awards including Best Picture.
Mr. Neilan's animated screenplays have been similarly well received, yielding offers and winning over numerous production companies. ALMOST A FROG, a feature in the Pixar mold, continues to garner interest from studios and producers across the globe(Canada, So. Africa, Australia, England, America, etc.). Additionally, it’s been enjoyed by some big fish in the small pond of animated blockbusters: Dreamworks, Aardman, Disney(uk). Dreamworks also read, enjoyed, and called to praise an earlier animated script of Martin’s, a whimsical "Animal Farm" about America under George W. Bush titled THE COUNTY FAIR WAFFLE CONE LINE.
Marty is also an accomplished songwriter. Several of his compositions have been recorded and performed by signed artists. The Swedish rock duo, Shebang, included a Martin Neilan song on their 2004 hit record, “So Come On.” The album was the #1 record in Sweden and Denmark for seven weeks in January and February of 2004.
I have a modest home studio for jobs that require instant turnaround. I have access to a world class studio in an adjacent town for audiobooks, recordings that require music, etc.
