Born and raised in Massachusetts I was one of those kids whose voice never matched their body. No Boston accent, No cultural accent, and at the time, a couple of octaves higher than most. As an adult, my main battle was convincing teachers on the phone that I wasn’t my son’s best friend trying to excuse him from school. Then my Mom sat me down one day and said, “Make the best of the gifts you were given”. I had never really though of my voice as a gift, but, it was the best advice I ever got.
