I'm just starting up a professional voice-over business, but I have been talking for most of my life, so that has to count for something, doesn't it? I have done recorded narrations/voice overs for use during plays that I have been in over the years. I have also recorded voice mail messages for businesses, primarily the Professional Actor's Studio in Atlanta, GA.
I have a BA in theatre from the University of Tennesse, Knoxville. I attended a voice over workshop conducted by September Day Leach, a well-respected and constantly working voice professional based in Atlanta. I continue to take acting classes, most recently at the Professional Actor's Studio in Atlanta.
I am currently using a Sterling Audio ST51 microphone with all the necessary accessories-pop filter, headphones, etc. My recording software is Audacity.
Due to my acting training, I can read a script quickly and efficiently. I have a strong grasp of how to color a script and bring out the important points, in order to bring attention to the product being sold or the point being made. Over the years I have worked a plethora of public service jobs, otherwise known as jobs in the retail/customer service sector. Due to this experience, I have learned to modulate my voice in order to bring about the desired outcome, whether that be to sell a product or calm an irate person down.
