The texture of my voice has called people to the television set when they travelled from one media market to another. They have told me they heard my voice lofting through their kitchen and immediately recognized it from when I worked at their television station "back home." When I'm speaking, your will hear someone you know telling their favorite story or how they survived the day. My voice will remind you of your daughter, sister or mother or a friendly stranger whom you've remembered. My voice and image were presented in a live format for most of my television career. Most recently, I anchored a two hour morning show and delivered a solo noon newscast for a fast-paced audience. However, I provided my viewers with in-depth emotional reports in many of my taped pieces. One of my reports depicted an 18 month old girl named Kayla who was undergoing chemotherapy as she battled cancer in Pine Island, Florida. These sensitive narrations drew viewers to the set. Viewers still tell me my voice is what rouses them out of their overnight slumber and prepares them to greet the day -- most often, with a smile.
