Radio/voiceover experience- Just recorded a spec pilot animated series being pitched to Comedy Central/Adult Swim. Currently freelancing with Tigorex Productions. For samples of my voice, visit and click on "Laura S.". Recently booked a job playing a 15 y.o. Canadian girl for a Japanese ESL program through Full House Productions. Played "Patricia Holohan" in the ongoing radio series "Five Lives", broadcast live fom the Shubert Theatre in New Haven. Also portrayed "Kathleen" on "The Henry Aldrich Show" through he Shubert Radio Theatre, starring the original Henry Aldrich from when the series wast first broadcast in the 1930's and '40s. Also, did several voiceovers at NYU for WNYU radio, including playing "Lucy" in a spoof version of "Bram Stoker's Dracula".
Other acting experience- I have extensive experience in both regional and Off and Off-off Broadway theater. Theater companies I've performed with (in addition to Shubert-New Haven) include: the Chelsea Playhouse, Naked Angels, the Living Theatre Co., Theater for the New City, SoHo Playhouse, HERE, Grove St. Playhouse,the Bread an Puppet Theater, Producer's Guild and the Ivoryton Playhouse. I've done improv. at the New York Comedy Club and with the First City Theater Co., and toured with the SPARK Players for a year.
Studied voice and speech, scene study, improv., Shakespearean technique, etc. at NYU Tisch School of the Arts throgh the Stella Adler Studio and the Schol for Film and Television. Also studied dramatic writing there. Graduated with a B.F.A. in drama and dramatic writing.
Also, studied drama, singing, movement and creative writing through the Greater Hartford Academy of the Peforming Arts and the Young People's Center for the Creative Arts in CT. Privately studied singing with an instructor at the Hartt School of Music and ballet and tap dance at the Matchee Dance Studios. Studied all forms of drama, playwriting and theater directing through Oddfellows Playhouse.
Other character voices (not accents)-cackling witches, big dumb giants, old people, young children, can imitate many known cartoon and character voices (including many Disney and Warner Bros. classic characters and ALL of the characters on "The Simpsons"), the sky's the limit on range.
singing (can vary in rang from first soprano to alto belt) and songwriting (recently performed a collection of songs I wrote about the issues of war, poverty and police brutality through the THAW network at various venues around the city, upcoming performance of original song on WBAI radio), improv., Commedia Del' Arte, screenwriting and playwriting (orignal screenplay, THE FERAL CHILD was a Sundance Screenwriter's Lab finalist, co-wrote a comissioned Broaway play pending production with Cameron Mackintosh Productions), filmmaking (currently assisting legendary Iranian filmmaker Amir Naderi on film shooting in NYC this summer, studied filmmaking at NY Film Academy in London; wrote & directed 3 short films on 16mm, wrote and directed two DV shorts at NYU), working with children (work with homeless kids as an artist mentor at the Actor's Theater Workshop), currently developing one-person show entitled "Little Champ vs. The World", speak some French, currently learning to play guitar.
